Research Scientist - Power Electronics

  • Drive research activities for energy management, AC and DC microgrids in an international environment with a team of scientists
  • Identify new trends in Power Electronic technologies and design processes. Quantify benefits and recommend actions
  • Design and evaluate innovative topologies and circuitry concepts considering most recent power electronic components for applications such as solar power conversion and storage, smart grid power distribution
  • Support our business units' power electronics design activities by quantitative evaluations, modelling and simulation
  • Build prototypes and conduct experimental validation of component model and circuit designs
  • Masters/PhD in Power Electronics
  • Very good knowledge about state-of-the art technologies with regards to active and passive power electronic components as well as packaging and heat management technologies
  • Strong knowhow on the power electronic systems and able to work in a research environment
  • Familiar with circuit design and system simulation tools such as Matlab/Simulink, PLECS and SABER (multi domain physical system simulation)
  • Able to design and build a DC microgrid test set-up
  • Innovative, self-motivated and strategic thinker with entrepreneurial orientation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
